How can I transition from my preppy style to emo/scene without freaking out my parents?

I do not want a label but it is easier to say "Emo and Scene" than to explain what style I like. I love the music, the hair, the fashion but I have really conservative parents and they are afraid to let their baby (I'm the youngest) be different. My brother is more punk and my sister has this kinda indie rocker vibe but my parents refuse to let me be anything other than a boring prepster. How do I change without them freaking...

My parents are super strict! They wont let me do many of the things i like. Im allowed to dress emo to a certain extent. But when it comes to my hair and make up.
